Canadian Loggers' Sports Training Program
The Canadian Loggers’ Sports Association Training Program is an opportunity for individuals, teams, and clubs across Canada to apply for funds to support their programs. This program is designed to provide funding and resources to enable participants to enhance their skills, foster community engagement, and preserve the cultural heritage of logger sports through training camps, workshops & mentorship.
By supporting those who are passionate about coaching and sharing their knowledge, we aim to empower the next generation of competitors and enthusiasts, ensuring that the spirit of logger sports continues to thrive in communities nationwide.
We encourage all interested applicants to apply to make a meaningful impact in their local areas and strengthen the logger sports community.
This program has a maximum of $2000 to be distributed at the executive's discretion.
This program has two intake periods, the deadlines of which are February 28 and June 30.

Training sessions (demos, introductions to the sports, general )

Mentorship (non-competition training but valuable skills - Gear care, learning to file, getting wood, etc.)

Travel costs associated with bringing in coaches/mentors for group training

Assessment - How are decisions made?
The board will assess your application on the following weighted criteria
Impact 40%
Relevance 30%
Feasibility 30%
The requested amount may be up to 100% of the eligible project budget. CANLOG intends to support successful applications at 100% of their request; however, it may be awarded for less than requested. Funding priority may be given to applicants who are a part of a designated priority group.

Final reports
A final report will be due 1 month after you complete the project. If we don’t receive a final report, then you won’t be in good standing. This will affect your ability to receive funding in the future.

The Canadian Loggers’ Sports Association reserves the right to redistribute, delay, or suspend payments if the recipient:

Does not carry out its planned program of activities.

Makes major changes
-
Does not meet its obligations
-
Fails to comply with legal obligations.

Fails to respect the commitment to provide a safe and respectful workplace free from harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct.
