The Campbell River Logging Sports is an event of the annual Campbell River Salmon Festival (SalmonFest) and started as a demonstration show by Wickheim Brothers from Sooke in 1975. From 1975 to 1983 the demonstration show gradually became a local show/competition at the annual July 1 st Campbell River Salmon Festival and in 1984 became a full competition and was certified by CANLOG. The Competition was also moved to Nunns Creek Park and became a separate event run by the Salmon Festival on the 2nd weekend in August. In 1991 the annual Salmon Festival event was moved from downtown to Nunns Creek Park and the date changed from July to August, combining the Salmon Festival and Logger Sports events once again. The event is now titled Campbell River Salmon Festival or SalmonFest.

The show is suited for all classes as we run the 56 events for youth, novice men's and ladies, intermediate, and open men's and ladies.

North Shuswap Timber Days is a biennial competition held on Canada Day weekend. This competition started back in 1976 and has been involved with CANLOG from the early days The competition has taken place across the Shuswap area, such as Chase, Scotch Creek and Ceilsta. Currently, the competition is being held in Scotch Creek, but we keep the show titled North Shuswap to represent the area and recognize how tightly connected our communities are. We feature events for both men and ladies and within offer events in the open and novice divisions.

The show is put on by the Bischoff family, who are now a multigenerational logger sports family. The family got involved with logger sports in 1977, not too long after the show started.

Port McNeill has been a part of the Canadian Logger Sports Association since 2010. Port McNeill is a small community located on the northern end of Vancouver Island with many ties to the forest industry.  Our logger sports field is across the street from the world’s largest burl. We hold our competition at the edge of town and next to the waterfront which gives a beautiful background for a day full of competing. Each year, Port McNeill offers a range of events for all the competitors. This event is free for spectators and something that not only the locals look forward to each year, but also many tourists come back to watch this incredible show.
