CAN-LOG

THE CANADIAN LOGGER SPORTS ASSOCIATION
Welcome to our official site “ Safety in Logger Sports is the same as safety in the woods.“

Can-Log was established in the late 1960's to help provide a standard set of rules between some of the biggest shows of that time (namely the Festival of Forestry at the Pacific National Exhibition and the Squamish Logger Sports).  The committee set out to promote Logger Sports in Canada, set rules and regulations, and allow for the allocation of Canadian Championship events to the participating shows.  The sport has a rich and colourful history originating from logging camps in this country in the late 1800's (History).  Presently, the committee is voted for by the membership, and annual meetings are held for voting, member awards and rule changes.  Competitions are held primarily during the summer months, and are often the focal point of each community's summer celebrations.  The events are fast-paced and exciting, ranging from racing up and down an 80 foot sparpole to chopping through a 12 inch diameter block on springboards 10 feet in the air (see competition pictures)!  For further information, please contact the individual show you are interested in (Show Contacts) or email canlog@shaw.ca
